What started by providing advanced solutions to metabolic disorders for our weight-loss patients at our RCAM health clinic in Henderson, turned in to the development of an incredible medical breakthrough! We determined that we must first find the REASON in order to fix the problem. Our approach, with all of our patients, was to use Patient Specific Investigative Analysis (PSIA) to get to the root of the problem. By analyzing, each patient in depth, we could prescribe a treatment that was specific to their individual needs. In our research we came across Biophysical, a CLIA certified lab, and industry leader in testing and analyzing biomarkers. Biomarkers are biochemical features or facets that can be used to monitor the progress of disease or the effects of treatment. This was great, because it allowed us a way to monitor the progress of our patient's health beyond just that of a scale and measuring tape. What we learned was: out-of-range biomarker levels can show up long before the onset of metabolic related diseases. From this we determined that by knowing this information we could actually take the necessary steps to eliminate the disease before the onset of disease and its symptoms. At that time, the biomarker test we were using involved a wider range of biomarkers, was cost prohibitive for some, and required a blood-draw. But, what an amazing technology! So with our partner, Biophysical Corporation, we set off to find a way to provide this amazing health solution to everyone. We determined that we must:
- Reduce the cost
- Focus on the biomarkers that were most closely associated with metabolic disorders
- Extract the biomarkers without having to collect 4 or 5 vials of blood
- Make it easy to administer from home or available at the doctor's office

Now that we had a way to determine there was a problem we needed a way to FIX it. At that time, we were very successful with our personalized medical weight-loss program, with our diabetes patients and our ability to bring our patient's biomarkers back into normal ranges. Our program involved personal coaches for the patients and comprehensive training to change their lifestyle. Once again, the next step was to find a way to provide this type of program to everyone. We refined our program to the strongest and most effective medical, nutritional, physical activity and long term behavioral elements.
