What is BiophysicalYou?
BiophysicalYou is a blood test that assesses over 60 biomarkers in your blood to help provide insights into your current health status. Taking the BiophysicalYou assessment is a step towards helping you and your physician understand your current health status. It does not diagnose any diseases or conditions, rather your physician should consult with you any questions you have about the results.
* Please note that Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Mike Roizen have no financial ties to Biophysical.
What will BiophysicalYou tell me?
BiophysicalYou is featured in best-selling authors Drs. Mike Roizen and Mehmet Oz's new book entitled YOU: Staying Young as an assessment for getting a view of your current health status. Following the premise of the book, BiophysicalYou helps provide insights into many conditions. BiophysicalYou measures more than 60 blood-based biomarkers to help evaluate:
- endocrine function and metabolism
- cardiovascular status
- liver, kidney and skeletal muscle function
- vitamin and mineral levels
- inflammatory conditions
- complete blood count
Your BiophysicalYou test results are presented in a well-organized report that includes an easy-to-understand overview, lab results for more than 60 biomarkers, and a reference glossary of the biomarkers included in the BiophysicalYou. It does not diagnose any diseases or conditions, therefore once you receive your report, Biophysical recommends you visit with your physician about the results.
What is a biomarker?
Biomarkers are proteins and chemicals in the bloodstream, like cholesterol, PSA, estrogen and glucose that can help indicate current health status.
What biomarkers are in the BiophysicalYou test?
There are over 60 markers on the panel. Two markers (zinc and selenium) mentioned in the YOU: Staying Young book are not available on the BiophysicalYou test. These two tests are standard tests that cannot be drawn remotely, and thus need to be drawn at a laboratory facility. They can be ordered from your local laboratory or from HealthCheck USA, a direct-to-consumer laboratory, at www.healthcheckusa.com. Biophysical does not endorse or recommend any particular laboratory provider but offers this information as a service to you.
How does testing biomarkers help determine how healthy I am?
Biomarkers are one the best indicators of what is currently occurring in your body. There are numerous biomarkers that provide scientific indication of your health. By measuring key biomarkers that indicate endocrine function, metabolism, cardiovascular status, liver, kidney and skeletal muscle function, vitamin and mineral levels, inflammatory condition, and complete blood count, you can get a good snapshot of your current health status.
Is biomarker testing similar to genetic testing?
Biomarker testing is not the same as genetic testing. Genetic testing indicates your predisposition for a certain disease or condition, whereas biomarker testing indicates what is currently occurring in your body. BiophysicalYou assesses biomarkers that are actually present in your blood, which can provide more insight into important health conditions that may be present and provide a good snapshot of your current health status.
How did you choose which biomarkers to include in BiophysicalYou?
Biophysical Corporation developed the BiophysicalYou with insight from Dr. Mehmet Oz, and his writing partner, Dr. Mike Roizen, for their newest health and wellness YOU book, YOU: Staying Young. The biomarkers in BiophysicalYou correspond to those mentioned in the book as valuable indicators of current health status.
What is Biophysical's relationship with Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen?
The BiophysicalYou was highlighted in YOU: Staying Young as an assessment for helping evaluate your current health status. The BiophysicalYou includes biomarkers outlined in the book and have been customized on a panel. However, Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen do not have any financial interests in Biophysical, nor does Biophysical have any financial interest in their book. In addition, any views expressed by Drs. Oz or Roizen about Biophysical or the company's health assessments, including BiophysicalYou, reflect the independent views of Drs. Oz and Roizen.
Where can I get more information on these biomarkers?
The BiophysicalYou Glossary contains information on each of the biomarkers contained in the test.
How can Biophysical test for so many biomarkers with a single sample of blood?
BiophysicalYou builds on the science and success of Biophysical's flagship Biophysical250 health assessment, screening over 60 biomarkers using just a sample of blood, using the same innovative technology that has been used for many years for clinical research and by the pharmaceutical industry. To compare, if you wanted to test all of these biomarkers using conventional laboratory methods, it would take multiple blood draws and cost significantly more.
Where is BiophysicalYou available?
The BiophysicalYou is currently available in the United States (except New York, Hawaii and Alaska - please consult this list for specific information), England, Japan and Canada. The BiophysicalYou is not available internationally at this time.

The additional markers tested by Biophysical250 can help indicate the presence of a variety of diseases and conditions, often before symptoms appear and when treatment options are the widest and most successful.
Biophysical250 includes a complete medical history prior to taking the test and a private, in-depth phone consultation with a Biophysical physician.
