George P. Rodgers, MD President and Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Rodgers graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his residency training at the University of Texas Medical School and cardiology fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Rodgers is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and the sub-specialty of Cardiovascular Disease and entered private practice in Austin, Texas, in 1989. Prior to joining Biophysical as president and chief medical officer, he was medical director for Heart Hospital of Austin, one of the nation’s premier facilities for cardiovascular care. He was also president of the Austin Heart cardiology group from 1999 to 2004, where he continues to practice clinical cardiology. A noted authority in providing cardiovascular care and information to residents of Central Texas, he has served on numerous regional and national committees on cardiovascular disease throughout his career. He was elected chairman for the American College of Cardiology Board of Governors in 2007 and also serves as president of the Championship Hearts Foundation and president of the Texas Chapter of the American College of Cardiology. The principal investigator for numerous research projects, Dr. Rodgers has published more than 40 clinical articles in medical journals and is a member of the American Heart Hospital Journal editorial board. He has a special interest in the early detection and treatment of atherosclerosis and is the founding member of the Society of Atherosclerosis Imaging.
Anne L. Alexander, MD Consulting Physician
Dr. Alexander graduated from Rice University and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Parkland Memorial Hospital and Dallas VA Medical Center. During her residency, she was an instructor in clinical medicine for the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She was later assistant professor of Internal Medicine for the Division of General Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and assistant professor of Internal Medicine for the Division of Community Internal Medicine at the Texas A&M University Health Science Center at Scott & White in Temple, Texas, where she was also medical student preceptor and instructor for flexible sigmoidoscopy instruction. Dr. Alexander is a Board-Certified Diplomate of The American Board of Internal Medicine. She moved to private practice in 1999 in Austin, Texas and in 2003 entered solo practice there. She is a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, American College of Physicians and the Travis County Medical Society.
Thomas Blevins, MD Consulting Physician
Dr. Blevins graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he also completed his internal medicine and endocrinology training. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, and Metabolism and certified by The International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) in Clinical Densitometry (Osteoporosis Testing). In 1986, Dr. Blevins joined the Austin Diagnostic Clinic in Austin where he was a practicing physician until 2001 when he founded Texas Diabetes and Endocrinology, a practice devoted to bringing the latest in diabetes advances, thyroid care, cholesterol management and osteoporosis diagnostics and treatment to Central Texas. A recipient of the prestigious American Diabetes Association Provider Recognition Award, Dr. Blevins also serves as Chief of Endocrinology at Seton Hospital and St. David's Medical Center in Austin. To provide innovative treatments to his patients, he participants in clinical research studies on endocrine diseases. He is a nationally-recognized speaker and educator for a number of topics in the areas of diabetes, osteoporosis, lipid management and thyroid disease. Dr. Blevins is a Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and is a member of the American Diabetes Association, the International Society of Clinical Densitometry, the National Lipid Education Council and the National Diabetes Education Initiative.
